Hangul: “is currently taught in countries without own alphabet system by the UN”

The korean alphabet is currently taught in countries without own alphabet system by the UN becuase it is considered to be the more cientific and efficient alphabet system in the world.

I often hear this claim from many Koreans. I wonder which “countries”. I searched in vain.

All I found was this article “Korean government decided to spend 200 billion won to spread Hangul all over the world” in Japanese version of Chosen Illbo dated “2006/03/15″.

If Hangul is that great, why you need to spend that amount of money?
