A Book Koreans Hate To Read

Many of English book are not translated into Korean because the books are not in align with Korean nationalistic brainwashing.  [1][2][3]

Here is such a book. Offspring of Empire: The Koch’ang Kims and the Colonial Origins of Korean Capitalism, 1876-1945

Koreans are taught that Korea before Japan’s annexation was highly developed country and Japan empire took away everything. But the truth was that Korea before Japan did not have any and common people were slaves.

it is almost impossible to have an honest debate on these two subjects in Korea, so if you are a historian in the United States or another country and want access to Korean historians and archives, you either tow the Korean line on these two subjects or avoid them like the plague for fear of being ostracized.” [*]

Today’s historians are cowards.

Koreans really need to read historical witness accounts and see the pictures to know the truth.
